Hi, I found this forum and I decide to ask you a couple of questions.I know that is only in danish, but I am now on my way of learning it. I have a really good concept of opening a design looking coffee/bar in Aarhus. But I want to make it for smokers and I dont know where to find the regulations about it? I also was wondering is it possible to take a loan from bank or I should look for investors? If someone have already did that kind of business I will be really happy to contact him/her. But stil if you can help me it will be a wonderful thing. Tak :) |
Hi
I will try and answer in English, allthough it is not my first language.
The Danish rules can quickly be summed up like this. If the serving area is larger than around 39 M2 then it is forbidden to smoke indoors. Except for this is in smoking cabins. The rules is regulated by the danish department of health and the Arbejdstilsyn. It is the police that in the end will enforce the rules. Fines are up to around 5000 kr.
My own personal oppinon is that there is no market for at "smoking" coffeebar (I have extensive experience with the coffee segment). The only places where smoking is still celebrated is in small pubs.
You should draw up a businessplan and submit it to a selection of banks. Alternate you could seek private funding.
