Many of you have probably heard of the phrase "Creative Destruction" but not realised that it was Austrian economist Joseph Scumpeter who coined the term. Creative destruction is the ongoing process whereby waves of creativity seed new standards that replace the old. Schumpeter, somewhat controversially, believed that entrepreneurs are a special subset of humanity posessing what he called "Unternehmergeist", "Fiery Souls" or more commonly "Entrepreneurial Spirit".
Needless to say, I am not Joseph Schumpeter, who incidentally died in 1950. I am an economist, entrepreneur, and a great admirer of Schumpeter. I am very interested in the role of entrepreneurs in society and how society can benefit more from entreprenuers. In my view, as an entepreneur, there is so much more that can be done to really set the "Entrepreneurial Spirit" free and drive society forward.
My ideas gravitate around market structures (good examples of market structure ventures are Betfair, Ebay, Zopa, Elance, to name but a few), and I am currently working on a couple of new concepts. Meanwhile, I have joined Amino to meet others posessing the "Entrepreneurial Spirit". I also plan to write a few thoughts on my blog "Unternehmergeist".
By the way, I speak and write danish too, so don't let language hold you back.
